Frank’s is back. Which officially means it’s summer (regardless of the weather trying to tell us otherwise).
So we sent someone down to check out the opening of our favourite summer pop up, and their new art installation for this year.
And here’s what they saw….
(If you’ve got a moment we highly suggest you pop up to Franks on the top of Peckham Car Park and have an Aperol Spritz for us…)
Last night one of the BLOW team had the pleasure of attending The Grand Eagle Ball as part of the latest event held by Secret Cinema.
The event saw an old school, on the outskirts of Victoria Park, transformed into The Grand Eagle Hotel, and transported it’s guests back to 1927.
Actors dressed as maids and doormen greeted the guests, champagne served in coupettes was offered, there was waltzing, and music, and love notes written that you were then encouraged to give to strangers, all of which culminated in the Grand Eagle Ball, where the hauntingly beautiful Laura Marling played an hour long gig accompanied only by her guitar and a spotlight.
If this isn’t the future of live music then we think it damned well should be. Exciting, entertaining and jolly good fun.
The musical event of the summer is likely to be Antony & the Johnson’s SWANLIGHTS at the Royal Opera House – a meditation on light, nature and feminity, featuring songs from all four Antony albums and originally commissioned by New York’s MoMA.
Issue 2 of Geist Magazine has landed on our desk and we love it! Especially the interview with dj/blogger Bip Ling wearing a blue horse hair neck piece by Bjorg Jewellery and the shoot featuring MMJP’s gorgeous pastel fur skirt!
