Last night one of the BLOW team had the pleasure of attending The Grand Eagle Ball as part of the latest event held by Secret Cinema.
The event saw an old school, on the outskirts of Victoria Park, transformed into The Grand Eagle Hotel, and transported it’s guests back to 1927.
Actors dressed as maids and doormen greeted the guests, champagne served in coupettes was offered, there was waltzing, and music, and love notes written that you were then encouraged to give to strangers, all of which culminated in the Grand Eagle Ball, where the hauntingly beautiful Laura Marling played an hour long gig accompanied only by her guitar and a spotlight.
If this isn’t the future of live music then we think it damned well should be. Exciting, entertaining and jolly good fun.
