As a tribute to the Chanel couture show, here comes Tomorrow’s Tulips…
Trust Karl Lagerfeld to reinvent street style by erecting his own street – Boulevard Chanel” – inside the Grand Palais, for models to strut down to, looking as if they’re just going for a stroll in a mix of classic cardigans (as worn by Gisele), bright prints and reinvented tweedy suits.
The finale saw the models taking part in a mock demonstration, carrying banners and placards saying things like”tweed is better than tweet” and “make fashion not war” while Cara and Gisele shouted through megaphones “What do we want? When do we want it?”
Now that’s one fun show!
The most chic grocery store trip one could ever encounter! Chanel’s collection was presented in a supermarket themed setting, complete with everything from Chanel eggs to freshly brewed Chanel certified coffee. Fabulously dressed shoppers including the much loved Cara Delevigne were dressed in everything from metallic trousers to candy coloured tweed suiting, often paired with trainers or knee high lace up boots.
Having been a muse for anyone from Serge Gainsbourg to Lenny Kravitz and Karl Lagerfeld, the former Mrs Johnny Depp certainly has come a long way since Joe Le Taxi! We just love Vanessa Paradis’ sexy sultry voice and this song just seems to fit today’s sunny mood!
It’s currently couture fashion week and it was the stars in the audience of the Chanel show that have got everyone talking!! Rihanna went braless in a ankle length white cardigan and draped herself in pearls. While Kristen Steward wore a vintage white tweed jacket and gave it a hard edge with black hot pants and leather gloves. In the words of Coco Chanel “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance”, take note ladies!
British actress Keira Knightly has played so many glamorous roles over the years but this has to be the high points in her career. Keira’s latest role involves playing legendary founder of Chanel, Gabrielle Coco Chanel. The short film celebrates the 100th anniversary of the brand and to make it even more amazing the film will be directed by non-other then Chanel’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld. The film will be revealed on 8th May at the Raffles Hotel where Lagerfeld also plans to reveal his Cruise 2014 collection for the brand at the event. Exciting much.
