Trust Karl Lagerfeld to reinvent street style by erecting his own street – Boulevard Chanel” – inside the Grand Palais, for models to strut down to, looking as if they’re just going for a stroll in a mix of classic cardigans (as worn by Gisele), bright prints and reinvented tweedy suits.
The finale saw the models taking part in a mock demonstration, carrying banners and placards saying things like”tweed is better than tweet” and “make fashion not war” while Cara and Gisele shouted through megaphones “What do we want? When do we want it?”
Now that’s one fun show!
Eurovision song contest + Karl Lagerfeld? Yes, Austria’s Conchita Wurst has gotten Karl’s seal of approval and got shot by Mr.Lagerfeld himself. Looks like Conchita has a bright future in the fashion industry after closing Jean Paul Gaultier’s haute couture show last month. It seems the fashion industry has really taken to this newly discovered star.
In honour of Mr Lagerfeld…
Having been a muse for anyone from Serge Gainsbourg to Lenny Kravitz and Karl Lagerfeld, the former Mrs Johnny Depp certainly has come a long way since Joe Le Taxi! We just love Vanessa Paradis’ sexy sultry voice and this song just seems to fit today’s sunny mood!
For her first shoot as global fashion director of Harper’s Bazaar, French stylist Carine Roitfeld picked all her favourite top models. Models for the shoot included Carmen Dell’Orefice, Lily Collins, Scarlett Johansson and Dakota Fanning, all wearing the finest pieces that Autumn/Winter has to offer.
British actress Keira Knightly has played so many glamorous roles over the years but this has to be the high points in her career. Keira’s latest role involves playing legendary founder of Chanel, Gabrielle Coco Chanel. The short film celebrates the 100th anniversary of the brand and to make it even more amazing the film will be directed by non-other then Chanel’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld. The film will be revealed on 8th May at the Raffles Hotel where Lagerfeld also plans to reveal his Cruise 2014 collection for the brand at the event. Exciting much.
After launching his own brand in Paris this February Karl Lagerfeld is reported to be looking to launch his own shop right here in London. The designer who is internationally renowned for being the designer at French fashion house Chanel has set out for world domination as he launches his own brand. The stores currently in Paris and Amsterdam are the first step in Lagerfeld’s plan for a worldwide fashion empire. We know you shouldn’t believe all you hear but we hope this is true. The team are reportedly in talks to lease a store near oxford circus and bond street (walking distance for us!). We predict that this will be the first of many in the UK.
