This morning in Paris, Junya Watanabe delivered a stunningly smart and masculine collection with a Japanese twist, accessorised with bowler and top hats. But what stood out the most is his choice of models: in a world generally saturated with white faces, it was refreshing to say the least to see such a beautiful ethnic mix on the catwalk! We love!
Yesterday The Rodin Museum experienced Raf Simons artistry at the Christian Dior Show. Spectators included Charlize Theron, Sean Penn, Valerie Trierweiler, Mario Testino, Paolo Roversi, the Arnaults and Bianca Jagger. Beginning with ballgowns the second set was more sporty featuring a grey silk jumpsuit with zipped details. The showing also came with a very luxurious aesthetic of coats in mink, chinchilla and cashmere. Dior also presented a collection featuring Eighteenth century-inspired fop coats in heavily embroidered pastels, and then a number of dark navy pea coats with exaggerated taped shoulder detail. Simons’ approached time travel in his own unique way, with an aim to bring history up to date.
Mr Porter have selected Paris-based, South Korea-born label WOOYOUNGMI design a capsule collection for their site. Ms Woo Youngmi aspired to create a collection that was an evolution from the labels Spring/Summer 2014 line, drawing inspiration from minimal natural landscape colours: sky blue, desert terracotta and cactus green.
The collection includes pieces such as T-shirts and button-up shirts with nature-inspired prints, shorts, sweatpants, sneakers and bags. The pieces are available now exclusively to Mr Porter.
The most chic grocery store trip one could ever encounter! Chanel’s collection was presented in a supermarket themed setting, complete with everything from Chanel eggs to freshly brewed Chanel certified coffee. Fabulously dressed shoppers including the much loved Cara Delevigne were dressed in everything from metallic trousers to candy coloured tweed suiting, often paired with trainers or knee high lace up boots.
